Hats are not the only gift one can give for this chilly winter season. It has recently been brought to my attention, by one of my dearest sisters, that scarves are also a great, easy, and warm craft! So, over the next couple of days, I'll be purchasing the material (fleece) to create some scarves and will add some pictures throughout. In addition, we'll be adding a photo album of all the crafts we are going to donate. Keep in mind, this is a gift from a brother/sister in Christ. Personally, I am attaching a card with a Biblical verse (with a ribbon tied on...it's removable, but still draws their attention to the verse). You can add anything else you would like. Some good ideas are bread, bottled water, advil, cleaning wipes, hand sanitizer, vienna sausages and other canned foods with the tab open top, toiletries, and even plastic ware. These additional items are ones that can be added any time of the year, not just the winter season. With the economy in such a turbulent position, and the long-term effects that have been plaguing our nation since at least 2008, the homeless population's growth is staggering! The need for donations, volunteers, and any form of help possible is ever-growing!
"For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, 'You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land." (Deut. 15:11)
