Another great idea for after Christmas are these cute bags. They aren't hard to sew, and they come in handy! You can fill these bags up with items for homeless people, with toys for children in shelters, or even for the needy!
Some items you can add for homeless, needy, disabled individuals include (but is not limited to):
advil twin packs
deodorant
wet wipes
hand sanitizer
canned food (with pop top)
feminine products
bottled water
Bibles (which are $1.50 at Salt Cellar for a soft back Bible)
Items for children in shelters or hospitals include (but is not limited to):
stuffed animals
books
blankets
clothes
diapers (depending on age)
hair ties
Bibles (again $1.50)
The items for the needy can fall into both these, depending on the needs and the ages of the family. These bags should be sewn/purchased for gender and age appropriate individuals. Keep in mind, not all guys want a cute vintage pink bag, so it might be wise to try to incorporate some manliness into a few of the bags. This could be done by purchasing fabric that has sports teams on it, manly colors (like green, blue, or even black and white), or even by choosing fabric that has military logos on it (as sadly, several of the homeless, disabled, needy population are our own vets).
